Anti Wrinkle Injections

Anti-Wrinkle injectables (such as Botox) are an effective way of softening fine lines and wrinkles. They are injected directly into the muscle that causes facial contractions, for example the frown lines between the brows, and work by stopping facial nerves from sending the message to the muscle to contract each time you make a facial expression.

This allows the muscle to relax and as a result, the overlying skin releases its wrinkle.

Botox can be used in a variety of treatable areas of the face.

Skilled administration of injections means natural looking results, and our highly qualified medical practitioners will provide a detailed consultation prior to treatment.

Micro Needling

About Micro Needling

Micro-needling is a procedure that stimulates the skin to regenerate and repair itself naturally and safely, creating smoother, brighter, healthier, younger-looking skin. It is the ultimate treatment for non-surgical and non ablative treatment of various skin conditions.
Micro-needling significantly improves the appearance of:

  • Acne scars
  • Ageing & sun damaged skin
  • Facial and décolleté lines and wrinkles
  • Stretch marks
  • Uneven Skin tone
  • Pigmentation

Micro Needling

Micro needling is a process carried out with a GENOSYS DERMAFIX device that is covered with numerous tiny needles. These needles penetrate the upper layers of skin to a depth of up to 1.5mm. The aim of this treatment is to create a controlled injury underneath the skin’s surface, thereby inducing the body to respond by producing more collagen in the treated area. The skin plumps and thickens in response to the stimulus, reducing the appearance of scars, stretch marks, and fine lines.

At Azul we administer a topical anesthetic before each treatment to reduce any discomfort. It will normally take up to 30 minutes for the topical anaesthetic to work and 20 – 30 minutes for the actual procedure.

After the procedure your body will start to naturally regenerate and repair the skin, working below the surface in the dermis. This takes time as new collagen is formed, new skin cells are generated and blood supply is enhanced. It can take up to 6 weeks before visible signs of regeneration and repair are seen and the process will continue over the following months, providing you with a natural and long lasting enhancement.
A single treatment can produce noticeable results, however a course of 2–5 treatments spaced 3–4 weeks apart is often recommended to achieve optimum results, in conjunction with a home skincare regime. The specific number of sessions required will depend on the area being treated and the severity of the indication, as well as the level of natural response from the individual’s body.

Recovery may take 24 hours or up to a few days; most people should however be able to return to work the following day.

Medical micro-needling is suitable for most skin types. It is not suitable for patients who:

  • Have used Roaccutane within the last 3 months.
  • Have open wounds cuts or abrasions
  • Have had radiation treatment within the last year.
  • Have a current outbreak of herpes simplex (cold sores) or any other infection or chronic skin condition in the area to be treated.
  • Have areas of the skin that are numb or lack sensation.
  • Are pregnant or breast feeding.

Pigmentation

Hyperpigmentation is a darkening of an area of skin, caused by overproduction of melanin (pigment).

In areas of hyperpigmentation, there is an abnormally high level of melanocytes, the cells that produce melanin, or they are hyperactive.

There are a variety of reasons for this, with overexposure to the sun (causing ‘sun spots’ or ‘liver spots’) being very common, along with hormonal changes; certain medications, inflammation and acne.

Consultations needed as conditions vary.
